Imagine if every person in our church spent just two minutes a day praying faithfully for two people who don’t yet know Jesus. Imagine what God might do. That’s where 2x2x5 prayer comes in. It’s a simple, repeatable habit of missional prayer:
- 2 people
- 2 minutes
- 5 days a week
Two minutes is short enough that anyone can do it, but long enough to pray intentionally. It’s an intentional habit that keeps two people before God day after day and keeps us attentive to the opportunities he may open and to join God in what he’s already doing in their lives.
As you pray, you may find opportunities to invite people into what’s happening at church:
- Life course in July and August.
- Our Mission Series, where we’ll see God’s heart for Australia and the nations.
- Our Big Question conversations: “What would you ask Jesus over a coffee?”
- Or simply invite them along to church on a Sunday.
What You Can Do
Choose your two people. Write their names somewhere you’ll see them every day. Set a two-minute timer. Then simply ask God to work. None of us can change a heart. But we can faithfully bring two names before the God who can.
We’ll do this together from July 27 to August 30.
That’s just 50 minutes of prayer over five weeks. Less than an hour to consistently place two people before the Lord.
Prayers to Pray
Below are some prayers you might like to use to guide your own prayers:
Almighty God, with you all things are possible. To you therefore I humbly apply myself on behalf of this dear immortal soul, this person who is perishing in their sins, and hardening themselves against that everlasting gospel which has been the power of God to the salvation of so many thousands and millions.
Oh, that after all their hardness and impenitence, you would still be pleased, by the sovereign power of your effectual grace, to awaken and convert them! You who made the soul can cause the sword of conviction to enter it. Oh, that in your infinite wisdom and love you would find a way to intervene, and save this sinner from death, from eternal death! You know, O God, they are a dying creature. You see a moment marked in the book of your decrees which will seal them up in an unchangeable state. Oh, that you would lay hold on them while they are still part of the living! Oh, let your sacred Spirit work while they are still within the sphere of his operations.
Work, O God, by whatever method you choose; only have mercy upon them so they do not sink into the depths of damnation and ruin. Glorify your name, O Lord, and glorify your grace, in the method which your infinite wisdom shall deem most expedient.Only grant, I pray you, with all humble submission to your will, that this sinner may be saved.
To him who has loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood, and has made us kings and priests to God, to him be glory and dominion for ever and ever.

Father God, I pray for my children. Manifest your grace and goodness and wash them in the fountain opened for sin. As they bear the image of the first Adam, cause them to bear the image of the second Adam. Let your grace be their beauty and the eternal weight of glory their portion. Add to your church daily such as are being saved.Enlarge the place of its tent, lengthen its cords, and strengthen its stakes. Bring your sons from afar and your daughters from the ends of the earth.

Father, I feel uncomfortable about people knowing I’m a Christian because they might think less of me. I know that some might, but many might not. Either way, Father, continue to plant deeply in my heart the wonderful love and delight that you have in me because of Christ. May that secure identity fill me with such joy and thankfulness that I desire the approval of others less. And may you especially prompt me to know this truth deeply when it comes to telling others about my faith in you. Amen.
